Governed by the Telecommunications Basic Act and Radio Wave Law. Standards have similarities to FCC standards (ex. Part 68) and CISPR standards (ex. 22, 24, 61000-xx).
MIC approval
Ek approval
Governed by the Korean Safety Law. The standards have IEC equivalents (ex. 60065, 60950, 60335-1, 60127, 61058) except for some national differences (ie. power supply voltage, plug type, etc).
CB certificates and reports are accepted in the approval process due to Korea's membership in the IECEE CB scheme.
Type approval tests are only allowed to designated testlabs in Korea, with exceptions to testlabs covered by the MRA scheme.
Comprised of two categories: mandatory EK-mark and the voluntary K-mark.
